What is Abidec Multivitamin Drops for?

Abidec Multivitamin Drops are used to prevent vitamin deficiencies in babies and children up to 12 years old. It is not designed for adults.

Abidec is a food supplement, it does not replace a balance, varied diet and a healthy lifestyle. It contains 7 Essential Vitamins to Aid Healthy Growth.

How should you take Abidec Multivitamin Drops?

Abidec Multivitamin Drops should be given orally, once each day.
Place the drops directly on the back of the tongue using the syringe provided.

Abidec is suitable from birth onwards

• Children under 1 year:
  One 0.3ml dose taken daily. Maximum daily dose: 0.3mlChildren aged 1-12 years:
  One 0.6ml dose taken daily. Maximum daily dose: 0.6ml
• Ensure the syringe is washed (not in a steam steriliser) then dried thoroughly.
• Store syringe in a clean dry place until next use. Syringe for use with this product only.
• After each use reseal the bottle with the original cap.
• Abidec Multivitamin Drops have been specially formulated for babies and children and are not recommended for adults.For best results vitamins should be taken every day.

Do not use this medicine if:

• your child is allergic to peanut or soya, because Abidec Multivitamin Drops contain arachis oil (peanut oil)
• your child is having other vitamin supplements
• your baby is receiving more than 500mls of formula milk per day. This is to avoid exceeding the safe upper limit of Vitamin A
• your child is allergic to any of the ingredients (see patient information leaflet for full list of ingredients).

Cautions

• Take special care and talk to your doctor or pharmacist This product contains sucrose and may be harmful to the teeth
• follow the instruction to place the drops at the back of the tongue.
• If you have been told by your doctor that your child has an intolerance to some sugars, discuss this with your doctor before giving Abidec Multivitamin Drops.
• Taking other medicines Your child can be given Abidec Multivitamin Drops if he or she is taking other medicines because the drops don’t interfere with other medicines. However, do not give your child other vitamin preparations at the same time

Ingredients

Active ingredients: Abidec Multivitamin Drops contains 1333 IU retinol (as vitamin A palmitate), 400 IU ergocalciferol solution, 0.4 mg thiamine hydrochloride, 0.8 mg riboflavin, 0.8 mg pyridoxine hydrochloride, 8 mg nicotinamide, and 40 mg ascorbic acid in each 0.6 ml dose.

Also Contains: Sodium hydroxide, Sugar (sucrose), Polysorbate 60, Nitrogen (oxygen free), Refined peanut oil (arachis oil) and Water.
