What is Optrex Allergy 2% w/v Eye Drops for?
Optrex Allergy 2% w/v Eye Dropscontains an active ingredient called sodium cromoglicate.
This belongs to a group of medicines called mast stabilisers. It works by stopping the release of the natural substances from mast cells in your eyes that can lead to an allergic reaction.
It is for the treatment of itchy, watery or allergic eyes caused by hay fever, house mites and other particulates (e.g. pet hairs). Soothes and relieves without causing drowsiness.
Optrex Allergy 2% w/v Eye Drops. Contains sodium cromoglicate 2.0% w/v for allergy relief. Always read the label.
How should you use Optrex Allergy 2% w/v Eye Drops?
Always read the label and the enclosed patient information leaflet
- Ensure your hands are clean, dry and the bottle’s seal is intact.
- Gently pull the corner of your lower lid down and tilt your head back.
- Apply 1 or 2 drops into your lower eyelid without touching your eye four times a day or as indicated by the doctor.
- Repeat steps in other eye if needed.
- Replace the cap tightly.
You should not wear contact lenses while using these drops.
- Do not use if sensitive to any of the ingredients. Ocular use.
- Use this medicine only in your eyes.
- May cause eye irritation.
- Soft contact lenses should not be worn whilst using this product, as this may change the colour of your contact lenses.
- Remove contact lenses prior to application and wait at least 15 mins before reinsertion.
- Discard the bottle containing any remaining solution four weeks after first use.
- Discard 4 weeks after opening.
- Keep out of the sight and reach of children.
